We banned any mention of Cheryl Cole on our show for about two years. Not because we disliked her, but because our listeners said they were just fed up of hearing about her personal life and her luscious locks! However, now she is just ‘Cheryl’ and it's all about the music... isn't it?
Well, reading beyond the dirty dub-step of Screw You and Love Killer, the titles and lyrics could easily be directed at a certain footballer. What's more, the most Girls Aloud sounding song of the album, Under The Sun also seems to point to a certain someone.
Although in the delightfully moreish Girl In The Mirror, we hear the line 'I've been picking little fights with the girl in the mirror' – and we very much doubt it’s about that uncomfortable 'toilet attendant and a lollypop' incident in 2003. The truth is we are probably just looking for salacious connections. And talking of connections ...
Call My Name is the fastest selling single of 2012 so far. Written and produced by the current King of credible chart toppers, Calvin Harris. There is also an outstanding duet called Craziest Things, featuring her mate and manager Will I. Am. Again it is very current and very very good. Even the mysterious songstress Lana Del Ray has provided Cheryl with the gloriously moody Ghetto Baby.
In short, there is something utterly fascinating about this angel of the North and no matter how much we protest, we still can't get enough of her..... or indeed her lovely hair.
