The bank holiday ruined me!

I feel like a bad person

I feel like a bad person. I was so full of hope and clean, fresh, non smoky air then it was the bank holiday and all my good work just melted away.

I went out over the weekend meeting up with friends, going out in town and I just couldn't resist smoking. I haven’t been much better this week either as I’ve sort of given up trying.

On the Allen Carr course you can get booster sessions for free if you start smoking again but I feel too embarrassed to ask them!

I am going to try and repeat the mantras they taught me again over the weekend and on Monday try to stop again.

Have your say

It's harder than a lot of people give credit for. I gave up for ten months, then one over drunken weekend ended my run without the fags.
After that, I was full of cravings again and the thoughts of, well.... one wont hurt. But then you buy a pack of ten, and leaving the rest would be a waste of money!!! lol
I want to give up, I can feel my health getting worse, I've developed asthma in the last two years and use a preventive inhaler, which if I've had a heavy night out on the booze and fags I have to use more than I would on a regular day.
I know in myself If I was to give up the cigs that my own health would improve, not to mention the health of my wallet.
A point of encouragment is those 10 months I gave up were great. Not having to go outside when at the pub to have a smoke, or leaving the table in a restaraunt between courses. Your even stuffed in a company car now if the "fuzz" see's you.
Plus, in that 10 month period and at todays cig prices, at 10 a day your looking at around £700 in your pocket rather than over the corner shop counter.
Keep trying, but remember you must give up because you WANT to, not because you need or are made to. Makes things much easier.
i will be having a go myself again soon. :)
Take care and good luck.
