Eleanor feeling guilty for smoking

In the last two days I've been trying to use some of the advice the NHS stop smoking lady gave me. She said I should try to distract myself when I want a cigarette so today and yesterday I've been running in the morning before work to take my mind off it.

It's sort of worked in that I've only had one or two but I still feel guilty for not stopping properly.

Just had one at work, made it through the whole day then it got to 7pm and the presenter gave me one of his. Got lots of evil looks from my news editor for giving in but I had it anyway!

Have your say

Hi - Please keep up the good work - it's hard I know, but it has to be worth it. I have been a smoker for 22 yeras - I'm 36 now and smoked 20 a day. I am on my 11th day ciold turkey - prompted by my dear Grandma who has Emphysema and has just spent 6 days in Rotherham General Hospital on the Respiritory Ward - OMG the sights on there - you take one look and think that will be me !!!! It's so hard to do, but you just have to keep reminding Yourself of all the reasons to stop and you can get through this. All the best. Swintontyke
